The 4th Rock On The River is officially in the books. Mother nature was nice enough to not have it rain during the 2 day event, which made it a success. On opening night, after a guitar was smashed to kick off the event, winner of the show called the Launch Maddie Storvold took the stage. She didn’t have the biggest audience, but it didn’t matter because she still brought it!

The Road Hammers were up next, and they brought in a decent crowd, and had them up on their feet for one of their biggest hits… Road Hammer.

Then came heavy fan favorite Tim Hicks, who played hits like Stompinn’ Ground, and Stronger Beer.

” I really liked Tim Hicks, I thought he was the headline for that night! He was really good, I love country music, but at the same time I feel like people were really into his performance compared to other’s.”- said Christale Barrette.

Hicks was a tough act to follow, but the Trews were up for it. Most of the crowd had arrived and the party was just getting started!

Last, but not least the Sheepdogs were up and closed out night number one with a bang!

On to the second night which featured an all rock and roll line up, it caught people by surprise.

“I’m not much of a rock person, but I surprisingly enjoyed most of the bands, and really like Theory.”-Said Teah Buffalo. She went on to add that she was a little disappointed with the line up on the second night, because she didn’t know most of the bands unlike in night number one. She did say she was looking forward to seeing what TFEC (Timmins Festivals Events Committee) could be bringing for the 5 year anniversary of Rock On The River.

There was not much to complain about. The atmosphere was positive, and police officers weren’t too busy. The only time when people seemed to be a little agitated, was during the switch of the bands. Mainly because they couldn’t wait for the next act to come on. So what did you like, what did you dislike, and who would you like to see at the 5 year anniversary of Rock On The River Next Year?
