**TIMMINS POLICE SERVICE NEWS RELEASE**


The Timmins Police Service has charged a local man with impaired driving related offences stemming from an incident which occurred during the early morning hours of Sunday, July 28th.
While completing general patrols of the downtown core of Timmins, a Timmins Police Service officer took note of a vehicle being driven in an erratic fashion.

A traffic stop was initiated by the officer and he made observations regarding the sobriety of the driver.
Based on the observations made by the officer, and the results of a breath sample taken by means of an approved screening device, the driver was arrested and taken into custody to complete further breath testing procedures.
As a result of the incident, Steven VACHON, 39, of Timmins, Ontario, has been charged with:
– Operate Motor Vehicle While Impaired contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.
– Fail to Comply With Demand contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

The accused was released from police custody but must attend Provincial Court in Timmins on August 13th to answer to the charges laid against him.
