**NORTHERN COLLEGE NEWS RELEASE**

Northern College is pleased to announce the newly appointed Vice President of Corporate Services.
After an extensive national search and interview process, the successful candidate for the position of Vice President of Corporate Services is Mitch Dumas. Prior to being appointed VP, Dumas has served as Northern’s Controller for the past two years.

In addition to his post-secondary experience within Northern College, Dumas has an extensive background in finance and administration within the construction, contracting and mining sectors. Northern is very keen to draw on this depth of experience as Dumas will oversee not only the Finance department at the college, but also Human Resources, Northern Training Division and Plant & Property departments.

“With this appointment, Mitch will have responsibility for all college non-academic departments,” stated Northern College President and CEO, Dr. Fred Gibbons. “In the time since Mitch first commenced work at Northern College, he has proven to be very capable and effective in his job role as well as in affecting positive changes in our business practices. I have every confidence that with his expanded scope of responsibility, Mitch will continue to introduce innovation while contributing to the best learning experience for our students.”

Northern College is delighted to have appointed a candidate with deep roots in Northern Ontario.
A Timmins native, Dumas and his wife are active community members, currently raising two boys in the city. Dumas’ responsibilities will see him working with all four of our Northern College campuses, the College Board of Governors, fellow Ontario Public Colleges, and our catchment region communities.

“I am thrilled to be appointed Vice President, Corporate Services at Northern College. The College is more than a great place to receive an education, it’s also a wonderful place to work, stated Dumas. “I’ve been very fortunate over the past couple years to have worked with a remarkable group of people. Looking ahead, the Corporate Services team is comprised of dedicated individuals and I’m excited to collaborate and contribute in a greater capacity to advancing initiatives we established in our business plan and to continue to promote Northern College as a staple in our northern communities.”
