When it was announced back in August, that Timmins would have its first ever film festival every one was hooked and the city was buzzing!

This past weekend, the first ever Timmins Film Festival was a hit and lived up to its expectations.

“It was phenomenal, the people that came out were very happy! Like any festival, there were some glitches and some speed bumps, but the movies received great reviews! Everyone on the board did a very good job, it was a busy weekend, and it seemed like everyone really appreciated it, and it was good!” -Paul Charette Timmins Film Festival Board Member

Even though, there is no official confirmation that the Timmins Film Festival will return, talks are already in place to start planning a sequel.

“It’s definitely something we’re going to be looking into; We have to have our final meeting just to go over the final numbers and things like that, but with the way that things were received, it’s definitely in the plans that we want to bring it back again next year, and be able to make things bigger and better.” -Said Charette

He finished off by saying that, there are things that need improvement when it comes to the viewing times, but overall everything worked out and he’s hopeful the Timmins Film Festival makes a return next year.
