**TIMMINS POLICE SERVICE NEWS RELEASE**


The Timmins Police Service has charged a local person with theft related offences stemming from an incident that occurred during the evening hours of Saturday January 4th at an Algonquin Blvd convenience store in Timmins.
The suspect was observed engaged in shoplifting activities by a staff member of the convenience store.
Responding Timmins Police Service officers arrested the subject and took her into custody.

A total of $160.00 worth of retail merchandise from various stores was located among her personal belongings during the arrest procedure.

As a result of the incident, Shelley IAHTAIL, 37, of Timmins, Ontario, has been charged with:
– Theft Under $5000 contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
– Possession of Property Obtained by Crime contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.
The accused was held in police custody and had a bail hearing where she was released on strict conditions including having to attend at Provincial Court in Timmins on January 14th to answer to the charges laid against her.
