**TIMMINS POLICE SERVICE NEWS RELEASE**


The Timmins Police Service has charged a local resident with impaired driving-related offences stemming from an incident that occurred during the morning hours of Sunday, December 5th.

A Timmins Police Service officer initiated a traffic stop near the intersection of Third Avenue and Elm Street in Timmins in regards to a mechanical issue with the vehicle.

The officer noted significant signs of impairment in regards to the driver’s physical demeanor.
The driver completed a Standard Field Sobriety Testing (SFST) and was arrested based on the outcome of that testing.


A Drug Recognition Expert (DRE) with the Timmins Police Service completed additional and comprehensive testing procedures on the driver at the police station.


As a result of the incident, Jamie Lynn ROBITAILLE, 33, of Timmins, has been charged with:
– Operate Motor Vehicle While Impaired contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. – Improper Muffler contrary to the Highway Traffic Act – Fail to Surrender License contrary to the Highway Traffic Act – Fail to Surrender Permit contrary to the Highway Traffic Act – Fail to Have Insurance Card contrary to the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act – Fail to Comply with Recognizance contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.


The accused was released from police custody but must attend Provincial Court in Timmins on January 21st to answer to the charges laid against her.
