**CITY OF TIMMINS NEWS RELEASE**

Thanks to some consistent cold weather and a dedicated maintenance team, the Hollinger Park skating oval will be open to the public as of this evening.

The approximately 430m outdoor skating path is ready just in time for this weekend’s Winter Wonderland, hosted by the Timmins Community Park Association.

“City staff have demarked some peripheral areas of the skating path that should be avoided due to a few rough areas,” explained Director of Community and Development Services Mark Jensen. “These areas are marked off with orange spray paint and orange construction cones for the safety of all users.”

While the ice is open for public use this evening, residents are being advised that the warming trailer and washrooms, operated by the Timmins Community Park Association, will not be available immediately but will be open Saturday, January 18 for the Association’s event.

Regular operating hours for the warming trailer and washrooms will begin January 23, as follows:
– Thursday and Friday, 4pm to 9pm
– Saturday, 10am to 9pm
– Sunday noon to 6pm
