Timmins and District Hospital is advising the public that we have activated our surge plan as the number of admitted patients has exceeded our bed capacity. As a result, we are taking steps to move admitted patients to other care areas in the Hospital.

Given these measures, we are asking for the public’s assistance with the following:

  • Wait times at the Hospital maybe longer than expected.

  • TADH is still advising people to avoid the Emergency Department for non-emergency issues.

  • The public is reminded that all individuals with cold, flu or gastro-like symptoms (cough, fever, runny nose, nausea, vomiting and diarrhea) are not to visit any patients at the Hospital.

These measures are being taken to ensure we are able to provide emergency services through the ER and to minimize the risk of transmission from/to patients.
