The Flying Fathers, will be in Timmins on Saturday February 22 and they’ll go head to head against the South Porcupine Fire Department. It’s a Hockey game you won’t want to miss!

“I always describe them as the Harlem Globetrotters of Hockey. There’s going to be a lot of tricks, funny moments and there is going to be a lot of laughs.” -Jason Kelly Timmins Rock Board Member.

For those of you who don’t know who the Flying Fathers are; It’s a group that In 1962, Stanley Cup winner Father Les Costello co-founded. It’s a team of skating priests recruited from across Canada that Played more than 1,000 exhibition games for charity, and they raised around $4 million for good causes.

“Father Costello, was very well respected in the area and did so much for the community and he had a lot of followers. So, when the opportunity came up to have the Flying Fathers come to Timmins we (The Timmins Rock) couldn’t pass on it.” -Said Kelly.

Admission fees for the game are $10 for adults and seniors, $7 for kids between the ages of 6-18, and $5 for kids 6 and under. Puck drop for the game will be taking place at 8PM at the McIntyre Arena.
