On Friday, Timmins Mayor George Pirie welcomed Parliamentary Assistant Vijay Thanagasalam of the Ministry of Transportation to Timmins to meet with industry and government officials.

“I was pleased to meet with Parliamentary Assistant Thanagasalam to discuss a number of issues,” stated Mayor Pirie. “We talked about our Connecting Link project and about the important role that the Ontario Northland plays in economic development and community sustainability.”

Mayor Pirie added that he was impressed to learn that Mr. Thanagasalam indeed traveled the Northern Ontario highways to arrive in Timmins.

The City of Timmins has applied for funding under the Province of Ontario’s Connecting Link program for work scheduled for 2020. More information on that project can be found at https://www.timmins.ca/doing_business/engineering/capital_works/connecting_link_-_segment_5
