**TIMMINS POLICE SERVICE NEWS RELEASE**


The Timmins Police Service has charged 3 persons with drug related offences and arrested a fourth person stemming from the execution of a search warrant at a Balsam Street North residence yesterday evening.

The execution of the search warrant marks the culmination of an intensive investigation undertaken by the Timmins Police Service – Drug Enforcement Section.

The Timmins Police – Emergency Response Team (ERT) was deployed as a precautionary measure yesterday evening during the execution of a search warrant.

An apartment located within a residence on Balsam Street North became the focal point of this investigation.
As a result of the investigation and the execution of the search warrant at the residence at approximately 4:45 p.m., Timmins Police Service – Drug Enforcement officers located and arrested four occupants of the apartment.

During the subsequent search of the apartment, the Timmins Police located and seized the following exhibits which will be tendered as evidence at trial:

 12 tinfoil folds of powdered Fentanyl totaling 1.2 grams
 11 “Ice” methamphetamine tablets
 $13,447.15 in Canadian currency
 a sawed off double barrel 12 gauge shotgun.
 three televisions that are believed to be the proceeds of crime
The total value of all items seized is estimated at $14,500.00.
The officers conducting the search warrant took note of the fact that the door to the apartment had been fortified to restrict entry and that the unit was rigged with live feed video equipment.

As a result of the investigation, Chadeem BAILEY, 29, Jevon JACKSON, 24, and Jasmine NAKOGEE, 26, all of Timmins have been charged respectively with:
– Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking contrary to the Controlled Drug and Substances Act
– Possession of a Controlled Substance contrary to the Controlled Drug and Substances Act
– Possession of Property Obtained by Crime – Over $5000 contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
– Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited Weapon contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

NAKOGEE is also charged with an additional count of Fail to Comply with Probation Order contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

A fourth arrested person found on scene was released unconditionally. All of the accused persons remain in police custody awaiting a bail hearing slated for this morning at Provincial Court in Timmins.
