**TIMMINS POLICE SERVICE NEWS RELEASE**


The Timmins Police Service has charged four local residents with break-in related offences stemming from an incident which occurred during the early morning hours of Sunday, April 12th at an Algonquin Blvd retail store.
While completing patrols of the downtown core, a Timmins Police Service officer was alerted to the fact that a person was in the midst of escaping with stolen goods in her possession.

The woman was located and arrested by the Timmins Police Service.
Additional responding Timmins Police Service officers secured the scene of the break-in and discovered that the suspects had forcibly gained entry into the store and ransacked the location.
Total damage to the retail store is estimated at $4000.
The total amount of stolen property is estimated at $10, 240.00
Based on the ensuing investigation, a search warrant was executed by the Timmins Police Service – Criminal Investigations Division at a Fifth Avenue residence where a considerable amount of the stolen property was recovered.

The female suspect that was arrested near the scene of the break-in provided a false name to the Timmins Police Service officer who was completing the arrest.
As the investigation took shape, additional suspect have been identified.

As a result of the incident, Shara MCBEAN, 31, of Timmins, has been charged with:
– Break and Enter with Intent contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada – Possession of Property Obtained by Crime contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada – Mischief – Destroy or Damage Property contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada – Personation With Intent contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada – Fail to Comply with Probation Order contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada – Fail to Comply with Release Documents contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada – Fail to Comply with Sentence contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

The accused remains in police custody awaiting a bail hearing slated for this morning (April 14th) at Provincial Court in Timmins to answer to the charges laid against her.

Additionally, Daniel KATAQUAPIT, 30, of Timmins, has been charged with:
– Break and Enter with Intent contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada – Possession of Property Obtained by Crime contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada – Mischief – Destroy or Damage Property contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada – 2 counts of Fail to Comply with Probation Order contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

The accused has had a bail hearing at Provincial Court in Timmins and has since been released from police custody but must appear in court on June 30th to answer to the charges laid against him.

The Timmins Police Service hold Arrest Warrants for two other charged persons involved in the break-in, a 36 year old woman and a 35 year old man.

As well, there is still a significant amount of stolen recreational marijuana usage items that is still outstanding and considered to be stolen property.
