**TIMMINS POLICE SERVICE NEWS RELEASE**


The Timmins Police Service has charged three persons with a number of Criminal
Code offences stemming from a series of incidents which occurred at an Algonquin Blvd motel
over the course of two days last week.
The Timmins Police Service received a report of all parties attending at the front desk of the
motel and engaging in menacing behavior towards members of the front desk staff.
At one point, one of the suspects took a photo of one the hotel clerks in an effort to intimidate
her.
The Timmins Police were alerted and responded to a final incident that occurred during the
morning hours of Thursday August 13th
.
Upon approaching three of the suspects in their parked vehicle, two fled on foot leaving the
female suspect in the vehicle.
One of the feeing male suspects was located and arrested after a brief foot pursuit.
A fourth suspect linked to this occurrence was located and arrested the following day.
As a result of the incident, Robert MORISSETTE, 39, of Timmins, Yasmin SANTOS, 22 of
Toronto and Javell JACKSON, 26 of Toronto, have been charged respectively with:
– Criminal Harassment contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
JACKSON is charged with additional counts of
– Obstruct Peace Officer contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
– Fail to Comply with Probation Order contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
JACKSON remained in police custody for the purposes of a bail hearing at Provincial Court in
Timmins, where he was released on strict conditions including having to attend court on October
20th to answer to the charges laid against him.
The other two suspects were released from police custody on the strength of respective
Undertakings compelling each of them to attend Provincial Court in October to answer to the
charges laid against them
