Today, February 20th, 2021 is “Love Your Pet Day”!

Cats, dogs, birds, reptiles, horses……whatever pet you have, you know one day of the year isn’t enough to celebrate them. But we’re going to try.

Hey singles, did you know, your pup can help your dating prospects? Just make sure your profile includes a photo of you and your furry friend! A survey found that men pictured with a puppy were 13.4 percent more attractive than without any pet. Men found women 7.2 percent more attractive when they were pictured with a medium-sized dog. For some reason, big dogs didn’t do anyone any favors.

Here are some more fun facts about pets!

-A new survey finds that 52% of us admit to kissing our dog more than our partner.

-A total of 56% of Canadian households have at least one dog or cat. (23% of respondents said they have a cats only, 20% said dogs only and 13% had both.)

-A pack of kittens is called a kindle, while a pack of adult cats is called a clowder.

-Contrary to popular belief, dogs aren’t color blind; they can see shades of blue, yellow, green and gray. The color red registers on a grayscale in a dog’s vision.

-PETA is calling for people to stop calling our domestic animals “pets” and instead refer to them as members of the family.
