In a recent Stationhead stream on Monday (March 25), Zayn Malik, the 31-year-old singer, took a moment to reminisce about his past with One Direction while also expressing excitement for future musical endeavours. Reflecting on his journey, Malik shared his appreciation for the music he and his former bandmates created over a decade ago, hinting at a possible collaboration with Miley Cyrus.

During the stream, coincidentally held exactly nine years after Malik’s departure from One Direction in 2015, the “Pillowtalk” singer fondly recalled his time alongside Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson, and Liam Payne. “I’ve been listening to a bit of One Direction music recently, reminiscing,” he revealed. “Good times.”

Acknowledging the band’s success, Malik emphasized, “We made some good music as a band. We were pretty good.”

Formed in 2010 through individual auditions on The X Factor, One Direction soared to stardom, achieving four consecutive No. 1 albums on the Billboard 200 before Malik’s departure to pursue a solo career.

Since embarking on his solo journey, Malik has collaborated with various artists, including Taylor Swift, PARTYNEXTDOOR, and Sia. Looking ahead, he expressed interest in teaming up with Miley Cyrus. “I’d like to do a collaboration with her,” he shared during the stream. “She’s got a sick voice, and I think we could do something really cool together, especially in line with what my new record sounds like. Miley, if you heard this, and you’re interested, I’m here.”

Amidst the buzz of his latest single “What I Am,” released on March 15 as a precursor to his upcoming album “Room Under the Stairs,” Malik’s fans eagerly anticipate what musical surprises lie ahead when the full album drops on May 17.
