A popular game is sparking safety concerns.

Pokémon Go is an augmented reality game for your mobile, that allows you to capture and battle characters in the real world but the Timmins Police say you still have to follow the rules.

Marc Depatie says to be aware of your surroundings.  Reports from around the world show some people falling into ditches and crossing busy roads illegally among other things.

Depatie adds not to trespass on other people’s property, no matter how rare the Pokémon is available.  Trespassing fines can go up to around $2,000.

The biggie though, is not to use the app (or your phone in general) while driving.  It is considered distracted driving, and Depatie says the stats speak for themselves.

The game isn’t officially released in Canada, but many are downloading cracked versions of the game.
